Forest Service Accepts the Honor Award for Excellence

The Chief was honored to accept a Secretary's Honor Award for Excellence this week on behalf of all Forest Service employees for the agency's work to reduce the risk of catastrophic wildfire.  Employees who contributed to this effort include many recent retirees, so the Chief wanted to make sure we shared this award with you.

In a message send to all employees, Abigail Kimbell stated:
"It was with great pleasure that I accepted the award on behalf of all Forest Service employees at the annual Secretary's Honor Award ceremony esterday.  While I accepted this award, it belongs to each and every employee for their outstanding contributions to accomplishment in reducing the risk of catastrophic fire to both the wildland and Wildland Urban Interface areas through the U.S. Forest Service Hazardous Fuels Program supporting the President’s Healthy Forests Initiative.  Thank you."
